Hours and Hearts System
Every event you attend hosted by the Pre-Medical Association will award you hours. The purpose of the hour system is to measure member participation in PMA events. The current hour system can be utilized to build your resumes/CVs and help the organization to distinguish and recognize members who have risen above and beyond the expected amount of service.
To reach Active Status, a member must participate in at least 2 of each event type PER SEMESTER: Community Service (Volunteering), Medical Education (Career exploration, Medical Certifications), Student Relations (Socials, Study sessions, Networking events), and Multimedia & Publications (Pictures, IG Challenges, etc.). A member must also fill up at least 25 Charity Hearts PER SEMESTER. 1 Heart = $3. A majority of proceeds earned will go toward our partner CS organization under your name! Members who significantly exceed the required amount of hours to achieve Active Status may qualify for further recognition.
Stole Requirements
To obtain a PMA Stole for graduation, a member must be "active" for 2 semesters in addition to the current semester they are graduating (total: 3). If the member is joining as a senior, they would have to be active for both semesters.
